Kerr launches Tab-II Child-Resistant Package:

The cognitive based CR function of the one-piece cap is provided by two flexing tabs. Its double lead thread design and distinctive appearance provides fast, easy removal and re- application in 180^o rotation and an audible "click" occurs upon positive child - resistant engagement.

In preliminary CPSC protocol test on the 28mmTab II package, 100% of the children tested could not open the package but seniors found it to be adult friendly. In addition, Kerr can provide the Tab II Quick Release system that has a unique self-orienting lug design for easy removal in 57^o rotation, and a secondary seal feature for positive MVTR rates after the foil seal is removed.

Tab-II & Friendly and Safe:

Once again, Kerr's innovative packaging capabilities and experience is providing packaging solutions that continue to the success of our customers' products and security needs into the next millennium. The Tab II package will be commercial in the first quarter of 2000. The Friendly and Safe Child-Resistant Package will be commercialized later in 2000.  Based upon the success if the Friendly and Safe Child-Resistant Vial package, Kerr has adapted this innovation to an over-the-counter Pharmaceutical closure/bottle system. The Friendly and Safe package uses a familiar "Palm & Turn" motion to open, and is senior friendly.  This patented innovation one-piece closure design has non-torque dependent CR engagement, is filling-line friendly, and meets "USP" tight package requirements after the foil seal has been removed.
